§- Prestbury Choral Society’s performance of Schubert’s Mass in A Flat, to a full house, was a resounding success. The choir and four splendid soloists sang superbly with a twenty piece orchestra and organ under the expert musical direction of Simon Mercer – Prestbury Life Magazine.
§- Massive respect to Simon Mercer (and Juan Ortuno) for making Act IV of Carmen leap off the page with such verve – if JRNCM Vocal Ensemble can deliver that notoriously tricky chorus so well what can’t they do?! Well – deserved cheers after that! –

§- By the way I have to tell you that you are an exceptionally good and clear conductor and I’ve seen a few! –
Prestbury Choral Society Christmas Concert 2017; Sasha Johnson Manning, composer of, and soloist in, The Manchester Carols.
§- What a wonderful concert this was, under the very capable hands of the conductor and director, Simon Mercer. Although I have sung the Messiah over forty times, this is only the second time I have heard it as a member of the audience. I was enthralled by this performance as the choir, soloists and orchestra worked so well together with the conductor, to produce a great sound. Congratulations to everybody involved. – Hayfield Singers 25th Anniversary Concert 2018:, Malcolm Blackburn..
§- It was an absolute pleasure Simon, I’m so glad we were able to reschedule to enable everyone to take part. It would’ve been such a shame for anyone to miss out on such a special evening. It’s a terrific choir, one of the best I’ve sung with in the north-west. To sing this piece in German to such a high standard was a real achievement:– Hayfield Singers Brahms Requiem May 2022; Dean Robinson – Bass Soloist (Opera North).
